WEEK 12 ~ MARCH 19-25, 2015

We decided not to head far away (Tennessee) for Spring Break this year but decided on a day trip or two. The week was filled with friends and family meeting together...Port Huron Shopping trip, a bridal shower, movies, games, sharing meals, spectacular shows, etc.  Monday began the return to normal life with Alex heading back to school and Carsten and Savannah heading back on Tuesday.

After scoring a good deal on Disney on Ice Frozen tickets...the time was right for the girls (Kim, Savannah and I) to head to Toronto to see the show...

The boys (Mark, Alex, Carsten, Daniel and Brendan) stayed back home to watch a Hobbit marathon. I don't think the boys took any pictures so I had to grab one from the internet...

The shopping trip was fun as it was some of the ladies first trip to Hobby Lobby! It's a wonderful craft store and we found the Joann Fabrics quite cool too. Lunch at Golden Corral was super awesome...where else can you get cotton candy for lunch??? The new jersey was a steal of a sale...glad we waited to find just the right jersey...she loves it :)

Savannah taught Andrew and Olivia how to make a concession stand. Apparently they decided to practice the rest of the week...

A bridal shower for Jamie and Martin to celebrate their upcoming wedding...

Our family especially enjoyed having supper with Dad, John, Sue, Caleb and Ben as they spent some time in Ontario. The kids especially loved it when Catan was brought out...

P.S. Did I also mention that Car got a letter from the Health Unit with a suspension date?? He's fully vaccinated with opting out of one voluntary vaccine and apparently now he must get it or be suspended? To be suspended or not to be suspended? Bet that's a question my kids never thought I'd ask them ;)

WEEK 11 ~ MARCH 12-18, 2015

Lots of stuff leading up to Spring Break...Pancake Breakfast, Physio and chiropractor appointments, family visits, doctor appointments, school projects...it's hard to jam it all in before we have a week "off"

Carsten has been planning and prepping for his Medieval Fair at school. Kim and Carsten worked hard on sewing a jester costume for him and his puppet.

Got a few pictures at the School skate that kicked off Spring Break...Slipping and sliding, flopping and falling, gliding and racing around the ice...a great chance to get some pictures for the yearbook.

We took a trip to the St. Jacob's Farmers Market with Brian, Jenny, Ava, Jaelyn and Kim. We loved exploring the different vendors. One of my favourite parts was playing the guessing game with the hockey vendor. Ava won a Johan Franzen jersey hockey card, I won a mini Datsyuk card and Savannah scored a whack of Detroit Red Wing cards and also ended up with the cards we won too...offering a trade of candy for a hockey card ;) The twins also got Savannah's too small jerseys and they were ecstatic. What a fun way to spend Pi Day!

We took the rest of this day to spend time with family by catching an early showing of Cinderella because we had free passes and it's a movie I wanted to see. Kim, Savannah and I even convinced Mark to see it. We ended with blizzards and Mark asking Savannah if she would like to go on a daddy-daughter date sometime...How fun :)

Mom enjoys visitors and also the Young Peoples who come to sing at the nursing home. She was blessed with both this week :)

A great moment this week was going to an appointment with my mom where the doctor was pleased with how she is doing since completing her cancer treatments. We are so thankful to God for His healing grace.
