Days 141-149 (May 21-29, 2013)

Day 141 - May 21, 2013

I love this cute wooden box that we were given for our wedding. It has had many uses over the years and now it is my certificate holder.

Day 142 - May 22, 2013

Carsten is practicing shot put for the upcoming Track and Field Day.

Day 143 - May 23, 2013

After a busy day of school, track practice and paper delivering, I let the kids just chill before Carsten's ball hockey game. Here is what the kids would love to do often if I let them. Note Savannah and Cailyn often choose to play something other than electronics.

Day 144 - May 24, 2013

Track and Field Day came and it was soooooooooo cold!!! The kids were bundled for most of the day in coats, sweatshirts, mitts, long pants. They all did well, so here are 3 pictures for today...my jumpers.

Savannah tongue out jumping
Carsten trying to stay warm while jumping...hands tucked in sleeves
Alex hitting the sand

Day 145 - May 25, 2013

STCCS Crop today and after working on the yearbook for a bit, I couldn't wait to pull out my Project Life stuff...

Day 146 - May 26, 2013

Project Life is the Kit I am using to put together the pictures from this blog. It took a little to get the hang of putting pages together that have no specific theme, but I am happy how it is turning out.

Day 147 - May 27, 2013

Alex went on his Grade 7/8 class trip to Toronto. He had a wonderful time and I took a picture of him when he got back...just after midnight. They enjoyed a trip to the CN Tower, Casa Loma, Rainforest Cafe and even got to take in a Blue Jays game.

Day 148 - May 28, 2013

Since Alex went to bed really late, we let him sleep in. Rowan was quite excited to see his best bud when he came for the day. I let them chill for a bit before I brought Alex to school for the day.

Day 149 - May 29, 2013

Some of the contents of my purse. Had to go through it because I bumped my finger and noticed that I lost the diamond out of my engagement ring. Haven't found it yet :(

Days 133-140 (May 13-20, 2013)

Day 133 - May 13, 2013

Late night hockey games ... While the Red Wings just made the playoffs, they took the first round to Game 7 and knocked out the Ducks

Day 134 - May 14, 2013

We will remember Tim Bosma. We pray for his wife Sharlene and their young daughter as they continue on in the very difficult days, weeks, months and years ahead.

Day 135 - May 15, 2013

Alex is really enjoying playing ball hockey and his team won in a shootout tonight.

Day 136 - May 16, 2013

I needed a picture and so I took one of Mark working on the back deck after supper.

Day 137 - May 17, 2013

My computer mouse. I search for it whenever I need to use my laptop...just can't seem to get the hang of using the laptop without it.

Day 138 - May 18, 2013

Abby joined Savannah for a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house...giggle giggle giggle :D

Day 139 - May 19, 2013

My parent's have this hanging in their family room...I love it!

We gathered together today to celebrate Mom's birthday. Here's a picture of Oma with her grandkids.

Days 129-132 (May 9-12, 2013)

Day 129 - May 9, 2013

It's the beginning of a lot of days/nights at ball hockey but I love watching the kids play. Here is Carsten adjusting to playing defense because his coach asked him to give it a try because they were short players. Car did a great job and was an offensive defenseman.

Day 130 - May 10, 2013

Savannah's class went on a class trip to Studio Arts Academy and Rock School. Savannah loved having the chance to learn how to play the drums a little.

Day 131 - May 11, 2013

Saturday was a busy day with three games...Savannah getting a quick rest on the bench before heading back out.

Day 132 - May 12, 2013

My kids sitting for a picture with me for Mother's Day

To those who gave birth this year to their first child—we celebrate with you
To those who lost a child this year – we mourn with you
To those who are in the trenches with little ones every day and wear the badge of food stains – we appreciate you
To those who experienced loss through miscarriage, failed adoptions, or running away—we mourn with you
To those who walk the hard path of infertility, fraught with pokes, prods, tears, and disappointment – we walk with you. Forgive us when we say foolish things. We don’t mean to make this harder than it is.
To those who are foster moms, mentor moms, and spiritual moms – we need you
To those who have warm and close relationships with your children – we celebrate with you
To those who have disappointment, heart ache, and distance with your children – we sit with you
To those who lost their mothers this year – we grieve with you
To those who experienced abuse at the hands of your own mother – we acknowledge your experience
To those who lived through driving tests, medical tests, and the overall testing of motherhood – we are better for having you in our midst
To those who have aborted children – we remember them and you on this day
To those who are single and long to be married and mothering your own children – we mourn that life has not turned out the way you longed for it to be
To those who step-parent – we walk with you on these complex paths
To those who envisioned lavishing love on grandchildren -yet that dream is not to be, we grieve with you
To those who will have emptier nests in the upcoming year – we grieve and rejoice with you
To those who placed children up for adoption — we commend you for your selflessness and remember how you hold that child in your heart
And to those who are pregnant with new life, both expected and surprising –we anticipate with you
This Mother’s Day, we walk with you. Mothering is not for the faint of heart and we have real warriors in our midst. We remember you.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Days 125-128 (May 5-8, 2013)

Day 125 - May 5, 2013

I've been enjoying eating healthy and love it when I find a delicious, good for you food. This is a great yogurt dip. I love it with vegetables, especially baby carrots...yum!

Day 126 - May 6, 2013

Found a great way to announce big exciting news for our family with a gift. Here's the kids opening the present and finding out we are indeed going to go on trip with Mark...we are not quite sure of dates but at least the planning can begin. The funny thing is, Carsten claimed the t-shirt (2.99 Value Village find) and Savannah claimed the box LOL

The tshirt ...

Day 127 - May 7, 2013

Here is a picture I snapped of Savannah just chilling on the monkey bars at school the other day while I was taking pictures for the yearbook.

Day 128 - May 8, 2013

Spring is really blooming here...so thankful for the changing seasons and God's faithfulness.

Day 123 - May 3, 2013

Soccer starts for me tonight...I'm pretty excited I found all my stuff and it's only 1:00 in the afternoon :) Praying this season is an injury free season this year.

Day 122 - May 2, 2013

I love the little things in life...a whole bunch of new socks...it makes me smile because I love the fresh, clean whiteness...they'll never be this white again :D

I thought I was silly taking a picture and writing this but then I did a quick google before hitting publish and apparently lots of people like new socks. It made the list of 1000 awesome things at #809. I love reason #4...

4. Clean Dream. Sure, today your socks may be bright white, but we both know they’ll never be this clean again. Tiny holes will grow, heels will brown or yellow, and the elastic will fray and rip away. One day you’ll hold a sock from the dryer up in front of your face and actually wonder if it’s clean or dirty. That’s when the Clean Dream is over and it’s time to go shopping and start again.
So next time you slowly peel on a fresh pair of socks, just smile because you know you’re in for a great New Socks Day.
