Days 218 - 231 (August 6-19, 2013)

Day 218 - August 6, 2013

August saw us at the soccer fields quite a bit. Here is Savannah taking a throw in. She had two great coaches who encouraged and cheered the kids on each night!

Day 219 - August 7, 2013

Tonight we had a bridal shower for my sister Melissa who is getting married. It was great to have the ladies come out and join us in celebrating Melissa's upcoming wedding.

Day 220 - August 8, 2013

Another night at the soccer field. The boys play on the same team. Here's a shot of Carsten taking the ball up. While he likes playing out, he also loves to play goalie too.

Day 221 - August 9, 2013

The last day of Fellowship's VBS "Kingdom Rock" and I forgot to take my camera. So today's picture came from the iPhone...one of Savannah and Cailyn with Josh their leader. Addison joined in the picture too.

Day 222 - August 10, 2013

Today we celebrated Carsten's birthday a day early by watching the movie Planes and eating an early supper at Mongolian Grill, one of Carsten's favourite.

Carsten likes to play street hockey with anyone who will play. He also loves playing with Lego and building all kinds of creations.

When Carsten grows up he would like to be Minister or a chef.

Day 224 - August 12, 2013

VBS Day 1 and Alex helped us out by colouring the banner we were going to hang up at church. It was a great help and one less thing Kim or I had to do.

Day 225 - August 13, 2013

What an exciting day for Savannah and Jared as they left on their long-awaited "Day Out with Miss M". Both Gerald and I bid on this day at the school auction and the kids were very excited to get to spend a day with their teacher outside of school :) They had a lot of fun visiting Legoland and a Reptile Zoo. Here's a picture of Savannah and Jared with Miss M as she dropped them off at Day 2 of VBS.

A facebook collage posted of them at Legoland by Miss M

Day 226 - August 14, 2013

The kids love VBS at our church as they get to hang out with friends, play sports, hear and share the great news of the gospel.

Day 227 - August 15, 2013

Here's the group shot we took of the VBS kids and helpers tonight

Day 228 - August 16, 2013

We ended the VBS week with a short program, pizza supper, games, sports and face painting. Here's the first part of our pizza order ready to be eaten.

Day 229 - August 17, 2013

Saturday morning we were up bright and early to the boys' end of the season soccer tournament. This is one of the few pictures I took of Alex before he twisted/rolled his ankle and was out for the rest of the tournament :( The team played well with 2 wins and 1 loss, nearly taking the top team out.

Day 230 - August 18, 2013

It was wonderful to have a day of rest and to be in church in Chatham with family. We had a great message addressing some of the questions that have been popping up in our conversations as of late.

Day 231 - August 19, 2013

Today Mia came over to visit and here's a picture of Alex and Mia working on melting their perler bead creations together.

  1. Soooooo . . . I just learned that Kevin and Carsten have an incredibly lot in common . . and if I did my math right (I googled day 223 of the calendar year and it said Aug 11), they are born a mere two days apart. (Kev is Aug 9). Hopefully they will get a chance to connect in Grade 9:) That would be pretty fun!

    1. That is awesome! Yes Carsten is August 11, 2001 which means that could be in PRC together...I'm leaning more and more towards that school :)They really do seem to have so much in common.
