Easter weekend....remembering the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for his people. It makes me think on the song "It's About the Cross" ... the beginning of the story is wonderful and great but it's the ending that can save you and that's why we celebrate...
It's not just about the manger
Where the baby lay
It's not all about the angels
Who sing for him at day
It's not all about the shepherds
Or the bright and shining star
It's not all about the wise men
Who travelled from afar
It's about the cross
It's about my sin
It's about how Jesus came to be born once
So that we could be born again
It's about the stone
That was rolled away
So that you and I could have real life someday
It's about the cross
It's not just about the good things
In this life I've done
Its not all about the treasures
Or the trophies that I've won
Its not about the righteousness
That I've find within
It's all about His precious blood
That save me from my sin
It's about the cross
It's about my sin
It's about how Jesus came to be born once
So that we could be born again
It's about the stone
That was rolled away
So that you and I could have real life someday
It's about the cross
The beginning of the story is wonderful and great
But it's the ending that can save you and that's why we celebrate
It's about the cross
It's about my sin
It's about how Jesus came to be born once
So that we could be born again
It's about God's love
Nailed to a tree
It's about every drop of blood that flowed from
Him when it should have been me
It's about the stone
That was rolled away
So that you and I could have real life someday
So that you and I could have real life someday
It's about the cross It's about the cross
With extra time off from work and school on this weekend, we were able to visit family, dine on Mark's homemade pasta and sauce, experience the first Artisan Marketplace at our church and enjoy a stand up supper and hymn sing.
Being "dutch" sometimes means buying clearance easter candy and having an egg hunt with the kids :) I'm not sure who had more fun, Kim and I hiding the eggs or the kids as they searched for their special coloured eggs.
Carol, Shifrah and Hadassah came down for a visit and the kids and I played hooky so we could enjoy a day at Fleetway with them. Lunch was at The Works...wow, it was yummy! It was great to reconnect and have lots of fun doing it.
