WEEK 35 ~ AUGUST 26-SEPTEMBER 1, 2016

We were excited to go to watch the Toronto Blue Jays play the Minnesota Twins. We arrived in good time but were sad to realize that Savannah forgot her poster that she made...but in the end her favourite player, Kevin Pillar, wasn't even in the game :( We were able to get right down at field level to watch the warmup...so close that Carsten and Savannah got autographs from Buck Martinez and Barry Davis. We found our seats and enjoyed the game with our team coming out on top 15-8!

The boys were up early the next morning to go to a fundraiser soccer tournament...while I was aiming to be there a little later in the day, I had to go earlier as Carsten forgot his cleats. I love watching the kids play but it sure makes me long to be back on the pitch.

Alex went off to Camp Tamarack and the rest of us continued on with a few more of the many dentist appointments that we had over the summer. We played a lot of board games, especially with the VMS kids and we even had a another cat to take care of for the weekend.

And a HUGE highlight...my dad came and helped Mark install the new toilet I bought. We finally had two working bathrooms and the Out of Order sign came down!!! Funny how your reasons for happiness can change from when you were a kid.

We were super excited that John, Sue and Caleb were in Ontario for the week and a bunch of the Koopman family met up at the beach to spend some time together. Our little family are not normally beach-loving people but we had a good time at the beach...and yes, this was our first real time going to the beach.

I came across this quote and I felt the need to share...
