Kim, Savannah, the VMS kids and I were busy prepping for Carsten, Alex and some of his friends to come home and celebrate his upcoming 16th Birthday...a super cool cake of pop and chocolate bars with a side of candy kabobs.
Savannah had her piano recital and the birthday party guests came along with us to her recital. She did a great job!
After a good night sleep, we all met back up at Angel's for breakfast...all I can say is YUM!
After breakfast, we went to The Hood for some archery tag...what fun it was to battle it out with bows and safe, foam-tipped arrows. After taking some pictures, I put down the camera and gave it a try too...sooooo fun! We'd love to play again sometime.
After a nice lunch cooked by Mark, we soon needed to head to Alex's cello recital. We filled a whole bench plus a few more seats and enjoyed the music. Often people mistake the boys for twins and we all had a good chuckle when Anita was talking to Alex about playing his cello, while looking at Carsten who didn't acknowledge her at all...she clued in that it was not Alex and exclaimed you brought your twin along?!? :D Alex did great and we love Studio Arts!
Logan update ... Logan's been admitted to the hospital again with possible pneumonia. He has the same cold Andrew & Olivia have but since he doesn't fare well with colds, we brought him in last night to get antibiotics started to hopefully prevent things from getting worse. Once in the ER, Logan wasn't able to maintain a good oxygen level so he was admitted to PCCU. X-rays at this time aren't completely indicative of pneumonia, but he's been started on IV antibiotics as a precaution.
Logan also has cellulitis in his left foot from a bug bite be got on Friday, and the Dr is hopeful the IV antibiotics he's currently on will help along with an antibiotic cream.
So far, Logan is doing ok and has enjoyed some company today 😊
We had a Birthday BBQ on Sunday to celebrate Alex, Grandpa and Grandma's birthdays, as well as Father's Day. It was good to reconnect with my family..if you ever wonder we the kids and I get our crazy looks, Grandpa :D
I love Savannah's Father's Day gift to Mark...conceding that Tulowitzki is better than Pillar for the day...
Alex's Birthday arrived and we finally had a 16 year old...ready to go take his G1 Test...and after computer issues, Alex completed a paper test, waited for them to mark it and received a special little paper that said he could now drive with us. He wasted little time and drove to his soccer game this week. Makes me want to get this cool bumper sticker I saw for our van ;)
Logan Update...Logan was able to return home!
Joining a class trip to get yearbook pictures can be fun and I joined Grade 3/4 this week as they ventured out to the park.
Carsten enjoyed a day at Canada's Wonderland with some friends from school. I'm starting to realize how grown the kids are getting...I am not always with them and not around to capture fun memories.
And finally, Savannah's school had their last day of school (a 1/2 day at that) and that can only mean the final chapel and CARNIVAL! The kids look forward to the carnival all year long and it never disappoints...carnival games, cotton candy, bouncy castle, face painting, giant slip and slide, duct taping your principal to the wall...need I say more...SO MUCH FUN!
I definitely remember being rather exhausted after this week and was looking forward to some vacation time which came soon after this crazy busy week. I do have to ask could this meme be true??
