WEEK 35 ~ AUGUST 27-SEPTEMBER 2, 2015

While in Ottawa we stayed at the bed & breakfast Domaine D'Amour.

We had a nice drive to Quebec with the exception of a not so nice police officer...

We took in Old Quebec as soon as we arrived in Quebec...it's a beautiful place and the great part is you can wander around and see so much and it's free.

We didn't know where to grab a bite to eat but we settled on a little pub we walked by and ate out on the patio.

When we were ready to turn in for the night, we stopped to try a "famous" poutine from Chez Ashton...I can honestly say that none of us were crazy for it...the fries and gravy part was good though :)

Ready for bed so we can be prepared for our busy day ahead.

One thing we all had to do in Quebec was visit La Citadelle du Quebec for the changing of the guard because Ottawa stopped their changing of the guard a week before we arrived in the area. After some selfies with the guard (it's amazing how quiet and still they stand) and a group shot, we were ready to head in where we had a tour of the old fortress and saw the changing of the guard. La Citadelle was a great place to visit!!

We also had to try a crepe place while in Quebec and most of us enjoyed the crepes. Savannah really just wanted soup and she had two bowls of vegetable soup and some caesar which she loved!

Our trip was almost over and we started making our way back...staying a night in Belleville and leaving in the morning to meet up with Mark for a Blue Jays game. We have watched so many Jays games this year on TV and we sure picked a good game to go to...Toronto Blue Jays 15 vs Detroit Tigers 1...Edwin Encarnacion hit three home runs (hat trick) and Savannah threw her hat on the field (with some encouragement).

What a great end to a whirlwind trip! We were so thankful to spend time together as you just never know how much time you will have together.

Back home we got jumped back into the swing of things of babysitting, cooking, cleaning, laundry, gardening, appointments and meetings, visits with Mom, Sunday school prep, etc.

 A new recipe we tried...Lasagna Boats...yum

Evening watching Jays games
