WEEK 40 ~ OCTOBER 1-7, 2015

This week Mark and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary so I thought I would look back on some of our wedding pictures. We look so young and I guess we were :D

 Our Family

16 years later and life is a little different...3 kids who keep us hopping and this week included the usual along with coaching soccer practices, basketball tryouts, visits with Mom, chiropractor visits, dentist and orthodontist appointments, catechism and young peoples, school pictures, installing a new microwave, a soccer game and bringing Mark's Mom to our church and her VV church. Life certainly is different but we are blessed.

There was a lot of sadness this week as well as remembering the good times...My brother-in-law and sister-in-law said til we meet again with their nephew who unexpectedly passed away. It gives the chance to reflect on Warren's life but also raise awareness of Sanfilippo Syndrome ... http://www.thespec.com/news-story/5943249-concert-goes-on-despite-boy-s-death/#.Vg_AEd8fV4I.facebook

There was also a tragic school shooting in Oregon and while we can’t change what happened, we can be a voice for the fallen. I came across an article and video that really hit hard and made me question what my answer would be if faced with the same situation.

Here's the link to the article and video
Saying, “Yes, I’m a Christian” meant a bullet to the head for 10 of the brave souls who stood face-to-face with the gunman.
The massacre is an unfathomable tragedy, but at the same time we know God works all things for good—and the social media movement that has spawned from this is just the beginning of God’s redemption starting to surface.
Joshua Feuerstein wrote a post this morning with a powerful video calling Christians to unite in the name of those who gave their lives for their faith by echoing their final words through social media:
#YESimaCHRISTIAN
“We have a hard enough time saying it in public or on social media or in front of our friends but how would we do with a gun in our face?” said Feuerstein. “Well what if today we honor those victims by making their last words trend, letting their last words be known and echoed through social media to inspire a million others to live out their faith publicly, unashamedly—without fear.”
With the hashtag #YESimaCHRISTIAN, he is calling all Christ followers to “make those words trend today in honor of those who have fallen for those very words.” And not as a means of drawing attention to ourselves, but to the Savior who was worth their sacrifice.

So, let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing…
